Ray is an Idiot

Hey, I gave the Player of the Week to Alec and the runner-up to Herb, so I don't know what you are whining about. Keep in mind, I WROTE the news section this week.

As for complaining about me stuffing my stats, you are borderline crazy. I shot 50% overall and 48% from three point land, averaging about 6 points and 5 rebounds a game. No one in the league came close to touching me overall, which is why I'm #1 in almost every single category besides the team categories. What do you want me to do...play awful like you?

Which brings me to my next point. What am I suppose to do when my teammates combine for 6-32 shooting overall? I can't control what they do. If I pass it to them time and time again, and they miss over and over again, then that's it. I'm not throwing my teammates under the bus, because everyone has bad games here and there. It was just unfortunate that the stars aligned and everyone just struggled when they were playing with me last week.

So in the end, is it just wins that we are looking at? Does the body of work not really account for anything? Hypothetically, if this was Ray that was in my situation, I would of given him the Player of the Week (although he will never play this well). Because honestly, he played a hell of a week and his teammates did not really help him. But seriously Ray, are you gonna talk crap about a player who moved to the #1 spot and pretty much jumped up in all categories?

Huyen "The Ray Lover" Nguyen

Player of the week -2

I looked the results of that poll, and then I understood why Bush won in his re-election bid in 2005 - Voters are just plain stupid! Who the hell voted for Ray? - It certainly wasn't Ray himself after the harsh self critical analysis for the failed Ma-Ray-Matt team. Then there is the 1 person who voted for Davis. What was that? A sympathy vote? Man, if sympathy sex were only that easy, Huyen would not be so hard up for porn all the time. Then there the bozos who actually voted for Huyen - didn't I read that he LOST his last three games? The last I checked, the BBA played by internationally accredited basketball rules - the team with most points at the end of the regulation, wins the game - and THATs the point of the game. To reward the winner - see here I did not say whinner... If we were playing communist or socialsit rules in China or Cuba perhaps then Huyen would trade some of his excess stat stuffer credentials to Rob for one or two victories on the W-L sheet. But no, this is Moraga where we have not yet ceded from either the U.S. or reality. I myself voted for ALec, and I can certainly see why Herb has his fair share of votes - but the rest? Why dont you just waste your vote next time and vote for the Green Party!!
See ya Sunday>

Falling In & Out of Love With the 3

My 16.1% 3pt Percentage is really bugging me, and I'm conflicted between shooting more 3's in order to get the percentage back up and not shooting any 3's because they obviously aren't falling for me. What makes it difficult for me to stop shooting them is my knowing that I am the the most efficient 3pt shooter in league history! Yet I've been in decline ever since BBA3, and I'm not sure why. I think it's all in my head. I think about it too much when I shoot. And yet, I don't to turn into Roger and shoot 3's mindlessly (Stop shooting so many 3's Roger, you would do way better driving to the hoop and shooting some mid-range!).

It seems like I always have slow starts, as Huyen mentioned in the News. Whether it be to the season, like BBA4 and 5, or to the first few games of the day, I don't think I press the issue enough in the beginning. I am going to have to dominate from the beginning.

People, when I drive to the basket, please move towards the basket, so that I can dump it off to you for the easy layup or else you'll be in good position to get the rebound. I've told this to Davis so many times, because he is a main offender. Whenever someone drives, Davis always stands on the baseline out on the perimeter. And so they dish out to him there, for a very low percentage, tough shot. It happened this Sunday, when I was on the sidelines watching. Someone drove (Rog, Alc, or Hyn), drawing his own man and Davis' man, leaving the right side of the court wide open for Davis. Instead of moving in towards the basket for the feed down low, Davis stayed out out on the perimeter, where he caught the pass just inside the 3 pt line and shot and missed, a difficult shot for anyone, especially when he could have instead ran in to the empty space under the hoop and gotten the pass for an easy layup.  Move in towards the basket when someone drives, because driving always draws the attention of your defender away from you, leaving you open for an easy close shot.  Don't settle for a hard perimeter shot.

Random thoughts

Despite taking the #1 spot in the Baller Rankings, all I can think about is my overall 5-5 record and the 3-game losing streak to end the week. Seriously, I'm averaging a damn-near triple-double for the season, yet in two of the losses my teammates combine for 4-25 shooting. Yeah Alec, I'm blaming my teammates. So what!?!

I hate guarding Alec. Seriously, guarding this guy pisses me off. Rather then playing defense, I envision myself just body-slamming him into the floor. It's like he's already adding points in his head when I'm guarding him.

I hate guarding Roger as well. Even though he's struggling really bad right now, it seems like he can't miss when I'm guarding him. Seriously, I'm in his face most of the time with my monkey arms and he still drains it. WTF dude.

The RAY-HYN combo could be very dangerous this season...but ALC-HYN could even more deadly if the two of us continue to play at the level we're playing. Seriously, this could be DOMINATING.

No one in this league truely understands what an assist is. People are robbed of assists on a weekly basis.

Matt causes more play stoppage then any other players combined. Sometimes I feel like we're watching debate teams on the floor rather then a basketball squad.

To emphasize the obvious, MAT-RAY-MA is just an embarassment at this point. How is this team 0-2?

Even when I'm yelling at my teammates, I keep it pretty vague so as to not single anyone out and to motivate everyone. Trust me, you guys can hear me yelling at myself when I do something stupid, which is every other play. Ask Robert Ma...I use to be horrible at controlling my temper when playing basketball. Why he still continued to play basketball with me in college is beyond me.

Russ would not have fell down with "cramps" if Dan didn't block his shot so hard that even the bystanders were hurt. Good decoy Russ :P

Shooting Directly Off the Catch

One thing I noticed was people very rarely will catch a pass then instantly shoot. Even if they are wide open after receiving the pass, they will instead choose to either A) Hold the ball for a few seconds, then shoot when the defender is closer, or B) Take a dribble or two, despite the fact that the defender is now caught up to them, and then shoot. Roger and Huyen do this ALL the time, and it frustrates me for a couple reasons: One, they could have had a wide open shot but instead they let the defender catch up to them, and Two, IT RUINS THE ASSISTS FOR THE PASSER! I'm only passing to Davis for now on!

The Roger Travel

In case you haven't seen it, haha.

Roger is not nice...

and neither should you be.

The point of the game is to win. This isn't the LMYA ( a league where everybody's a "winner"). I am going to say it like it is now and I expect all of you who are on my team to do the same to me. If I'm being a dumbass, I hope that you will tell me. If I'm shooting 3's like my life depended on it and missing them then I expect you to interject with a: "Hey asshole, why don't you try driving or your midrange, cuz clearly your 3's are not going in"... So because I expect that from you, you must expect that from me. So when I start yelling and being real frank about you having to D-up or whatever, I expect you to take that as truthful information to help motivate you from one team-mate to another for the betterment of the team. So to reiterate: I don't mean to hurt your feelings, I don't think I'm better than you, and I don't think you are useless. I just need you to understand that I want our team to win and everything else comes second. My vernacular will be limited to the following phrases when I talk on the court now on:

Fucking A, D the fuck up, Shitmanfuck, Don't let that cunt drive by you, Get the fuck up, Don't give that fucker any cushion, Switch the fuck up next time, Switch every fucking time, Help on the fuckin switch, Stay the fuck in front of him, Follow the fuckin ball, Call the motherfucking screens, Stay on your fuckin man every single fuckin second, Box your man the fuck out, Fuck, Shit, Cunt, Motherfucker, Give me a fuckin screen, My fuckin bad, Re-the fuck-set that shit, Take your motherfuckin time, What the fuck is the fuckin hurry?, Stop passing so fuckin much, Kick it the fuck out if your fuckin stuck.

I think that will be all. I will update the list if more comes up. Thank you for your time and I think this will be one great season.

XoXo,

Gossip Girl.

Week 2 Player of the Week Poll Comments

As we all know, Huyen rightfully chose Alec for Player of the Week this week.  He had excellent stats and a winning record.  Would you have voted differently?

I would have chosen either Alec or Herbert.  Herbert went 4-1, huge after going a difficult 1-4 the previous week and being mightily frustrated.  He came into this week determined with a new gameplan, and it worked.  He had 4 great games, all 4 resulting in wins.  3 of those games he was a scoring factor, and in the 4th game while he only scored 1 point, he dished out a season-high 4 assists.  However, it is true that his other 1 point, 4 rebound, 0 assist game in the loss of HYN-HRB-RUS to ROG-MAT-ROB was crucial.  Tough call.

My Defense Inefficiency's

I apologize to my teammates for this past week. My defensive inabilities truly came to fruitation this week. I will work on my defense next time we play and start guarding the jump shots. No more wide open shots for you Davy boy!

What's This?

What the hell is a blog and why am I on here?
